LPHF: suspended one match, Catherine Dubois will not play Sunday (Victory)

Victoire de Montréal forward Catherine Dubois has been suspended for one match due to her bodycheck against Megan Keller, the Professional Women’s Hockey League announced on Friday.

Dubois received a major penalty and game misconduct for an illegal hit to Keller’s head in the first period of a 3-1 victory over the Boston Fleet on December 30.

The match that Dubois will be forced to miss is Sunday afternoon (RDS Info, 4 p.m.), when Montreal will face the Fleet in Seattle, as part of the “PWHL Takeover” tour.

The LPHF Player Safety Committee determined that Keller’s head was the primary target of a hit delivered “with significantly opposite force and speed.”

Dubois, 29, has an assist in five games this season. In addition to the 15 minutes awarded for her check against Keller, the Quebecer received a minor penalty.

La Victoire is 5-1-0 this season, including two tiebreaker wins. His 13 points in six games currently give him the best points rate on the circuit, at .722.
