While Spanish justice has twice refused to authorize the registration of Victor and Dani Olmo by FC Barcelona, La Liga did not hesitate to delete the two players from its official website on January 1.

La Liga does not intend to give gifts to FC Barcelona. For many weeks, there has been uncertainty regarding the future of two players within the Blaugrana club squad. Authorized to play during the first half of the season, Pau Victor and Dani Olmo are not certain of anything for the weeks and months to come. Indeed, while the Blaugrana are not in compliance with the financial fair play imposed on clubs by the Spanish league, the latter affirmed that these two players would no longer be registered from January 1 unless Joan Laporta and the leaders of FC Barcelona manage to comply with these regulations. At the same time, the latter tried to win their case twice in court, for two bitter failures which instilled a little more doubt among the supporters. La Liga, for its part, took action this Wednesday in a symbolic way.

Christensen makes his return

Indeed, the FC Barcelona file appearing on the official website of the Spanish football league absolutely no longer mentions Dani Olmo and Pau Victor as members of the Catalan squad, thus materializing the non-registration of the two players for the future of the season, at least for the moment. At the same time, a sheet has returned for the Blaugrana. This is that of Andreas Christensen. The Danish defender injured his Achilles tendon last August with an absence estimated at several months. The Barça leaders then stepped into the breach by removing the former Chelsea player from their squad in order to at least temporarily free up the place for Dani Olmo, who had just arrived from RB Leipzig in exchange for compensation of transfer estimated at 60 million euros. While Joan Laporta is doing everything possible to try to obtain the green light from La Liga, this episode confirms that the threat of the Spanish international leaving this winter is very real.
