Lyon has been immersed in fog and pollution for several days.
This Saturday, while the peak of combustion-type pollution does not weaken, the Rhône prefecture has decided to activate the orange alert in the Lyon basin.
Among the strong measures taken by state services to stem the phenomenon, we find differentiated circulation. From this Sunday at 5 a.m., and until further notice, only Crit'Air 0, 1 and 2 vehicles are authorized to circulate within the perimeter of the Low Emissions Zone of the Lyon Metropolis. An early exclusion from Crit'Air, since this will definitely be the case on January 1, 2025.
Please note that all exemptions issued by the Metropolis relating to the ZFE are suspended during episodes of pollution.
Only vehicles carrying at least three people, as well as taxis, priority vehicles of general interest and exceptional convoys will be able to bypass differentiated traffic.
Another measure taken by the prefecture: the speed is temporarily limited to 70km/h on the department's roads usually limited to 80 or 90km/h.
For individuals, the use of wood and its derivatives as additional individual heating is prohibited, as is the burning of waste.
