The MotoGP world champion, Jorge Martinrecently addressed a subject rarely discussed in the paddock: money. The Madrilenian shared his experiences regarding finances in the different categories he went through and how it influenced his personal and professional life.
Jorge Martin offered an overview of salaries in the lower categories: “ at 17, at AsparI was already making about $40,000 base, and with sponsorships, that went up to about $70,000. » In Moto3, he estimates that the best riders can reach $150,000, but recalls that “ 60% of the grid pays to run. »
In Moto2, the situation is changing: “ some earn more than $300,000, but 30 to 40% continue to pay to run.
