Vaccination strategy
A vaccine against MHE obtained temporary authorization for use, for France, on August 6, 2024. The first doses of vaccine were made available on September 23.
The State set up a vaccination zone from September 18, 2024 in order to limit the spread of the disease towards the east of France by creating a vaccination band all along the limit of the regulated zone. Several Lozère municipalities were then concerned. Since December 13, all Lozère breeders have been eligible for the vaccine.
