Abdessamad Kayouh, Minister of Transport and Logistics, announced that ongoing efforts will reduce the time required for passengers to leave the airport after landing to less than 25 minutes, compared to the current 45 minutes.

In a speech to the House of Advisors, the minister detailed the main development projects supervised by the National Airports Office (ONDA). The objective is to achieve a national reception capacity of 80 million passengers by 2030. To do this, colossal investments are underway in several strategic platforms.

The most ambitious project undoubtedly remains that of the Mohammed V airport in Casablanca. With 25 billion dirhams of investments, this infrastructure will see its capacity tripled, from 15 to 45 million passengers by 2029. This development aims to position the airport among the most efficient worldwide, capable of compete with major international hubs.

In Rabat-Salé, the airport's capacity will be increased to 5 million passengers by the end of 2025 thanks to an investment of 2 billion dirhams. Further north, Tangier airport will increase from 3 to 7 million travelers by 2029, with an allocated budget of 3 billion dirhams. These efforts are part of a similar dynamic in Marrakech, where the airport, currently sized for 9 million passengers, will see its capacity increase to 16 million by 2029, thanks to 3 billion dirhams of investments.

The other regions are not left out. In Agadir, the airport's reception capacity will be doubled to reach 7 million passengers, while Fez airport will increase from 2 to 5 million, with 2.5 billion and 1.5 billion dirhams respectively devoted to these projects. Even more modest platforms, like that of Tetouan, will benefit from major extension work. Its current capacity, limited to 150,000 passengers, will be increased to 1 million by the end of 2026 thanks to a budget of 300 million dirhams.
