Nothing Phone 3a: new rumors regarding the periscope camera and the Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 chip. Source: Android Authority
The Nothing Phone 3a series could receive significant updates compared to previous models.
Here's what we know
The new 3a series phones are expected to feature the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 processor, which is a big step up from the Dimensity 7200 and 7350 chips used in previous models.
While it's not the most powerful chip for the mid-range in 2025, it will offer a noticeable performance boost. Additionally, the Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 is expected to be used in Samsung's new mid-range smartphones, making the Nothing Phone 3a and 3a Plus direct competitors to this device.
Another important change will concern the camera. The Nothing Phone 3a is rumored to feature a telephoto lens, while the 3a Plus will feature a periscope camera with zoom capabilities. This will be the first time that Nothing phones will have a dedicated camera with zoom, since previous models did not have this feature.
It is also expected to support eSIM, which will allow the use of both a physical SIM card and an eSIM card, although these details have not yet been confirmed.
Other features of the new products remain secret for now, but further details are expected to be revealed in the near future.
Nothing recently completed beta testing of its Nothing OS 3.0 operating system based on Android 15 and has started rolling out its stable version. The update will be available for Nothing Phone (1), Nothing Phone (2a) Plus and CMF Phone 1 in early 2025.
