Having recently gone through a sluggish period, the Montreal Canadiens' farm club has won its last three duels. He leads the North Division of the American Hockey League with 38 points.
Just as was the case Friday in a 2-1 triumph against the Belleville Senators, Quebecer Joshua Roy scored the decisive goal. In the third period, he pushed a loose puck into the slot behind goaltender Vadim Zherenko.
Sean Farrell had given the local favorites the lead in the first period, while Laurent Dauphin projected the puck into an empty net late in the game, after Matt Luff had reduced the gap during a power play. Roy, Rafaël Harvey-Pinard and Alex Barré-Boulet all got an assist.
Goalkeeper Connor Hughes was not busy, as he stopped 16 shots, compared to 30 for his opposite number. On the pugilistic level, Florian Xhekaj fought Sam Bitten in the second period and the T-Birds player had the upper hand.
After the Christmas break, head coach Pascal Vincent's men will host the Syracuse Crunch on Friday and Saturday.
