This Wednesday, December 25, since 9 a.m., Santa Claus, accompanied by Mother Claus, the Grumpy and his elves, is visiting the children's services of the Rehabilitation Center for Young People in Difficulty (CRJDA).
In its press release, the Integrated Health and Social Services Center (CISSS) of Laval indicates that “together, they will visit some units and homes to distribute gifts and sweets. These gestures of attention and generosity bring a little light and warmth to those who need it most.”
This initiative is the result of a collaboration between several actors, namely the CISSS de Laval, the Fondation de la Cité de la Santé and the CSN union, “who work hand in hand to provide comfort to children housed during the time of holidays,” we can read in this communication to the media.
Thanks to donation drives organized by employees and personal contributions, many gift bags were filled for the children. The initiative was also supported by the Youth Program Directorate which opened its doors to this activity.
The idea of bringing the magic of Christmas to children was born thanks to Nathalie Bourque and her
spouse François Leclair, who have already carried out a first distribution last year, reports the CISSS de Laval.
This year, their entire work team joined them to make this experience even more magical.
“Thank you to all those who participate in this collective effort and who allow our children to experience an unforgettable moment. Together, let’s make this Christmas a magical celebration for everyone!” declared the CISSS de Laval in this public release.
“It’s in every small gesture, together, that we can make a difference. Also minimal
be it, it counts, confided Nathalie Bourque, via press release. It’s time to remember the meaning of community, caring, support and love, and that starts with our little ones, the adults of tomorrow.”
“Together we are better,” added the management of the youth program. We fundamentally believe in everyone working together to improve our actions with our most vulnerable young people.” (B.L.)
