The increase in mutual insurance prices will reach 5.3% in 2025 for individuals and 7.3% for employees, according to figures revealed on Wednesday December 18 by the French Mutual Fund, which brings together 38 mutual insurance companies covering 18.7 million people. An increase which comes after two years of consecutive increases, more than 4.7% in 2023 and more than 8.1% in 2024.

Mutual societies have the obligation to inform their members before December 31 of the rates for the following year so that they have the possibility of changing. The calculations were therefore made at the beginning of November, when the draft Social Security budget provided for a 10% increase in user fees (the rest borne by patients). But the project was ultimately not adopted.

“We will see what the government’s decisions will be and if there need to be adjustments, they will obviously be made during the year”indicates Éric Chenut, president of Mutualité française. The French Mutuality also recalls that the expenses covered by mutual societies increased by 6.4% in 2023.
