A tragic event that occurred on December 1, 2024 at the N’Zérékoré stadium, in Guinea, caused the death of 56 people and injured hundreds of others. In an official statement, the Malian government expressed its deep sadness and solidarity with the Guinean people.

In an official press release signed by the Minister of Territorial Administration, Decentralization and spokesperson for the Malian government, General Abdoulaye Maïga, Mali expressed its “ deep pain » after a tragedy which left Guinea in mourning.

The incident that occurred at the N’Zérékoré stadium on December 1, 2024 caused considerable human losses. According to Guinean authorities, 56 people lost their lives and hundreds more were injured, turning what was supposed to be a popular event into a national nightmare.

On behalf of the President of the Transition, General Assimi Goïta, the Malian government sent its sincere condolences and deep compassion to the Guinean President, General Mamadi Doumbouya, as well as to the government and people of Guinea.

In a gesture of solidarity and support, the official statement expresses wishes for a speedy recovery for the injured and implores divine mercy for the eternal rest of the souls of the victims.

In a statement broadcast on national television on Tuesday, the Guinean Minister of Justice, Yaya Kairaba Kaba, announced the opening of a judicial investigation to establish responsibilities and prosecute the perpetrators and accomplices.
