Before kick-off, the clubs made a touching tribute to Edoardo Bove, who had collapsed in Fiorentina’s last match.

21:52 CET – Newcastle have taken the lead against Liverpool for the second time via Anthony Gordon – it’s 2-1. Elsewhere, Villa are now leading Brentford 3-0.

21:15 CET – Two more matches in the Premier League are kicking off with Arsenal hosting Manchester United and Aston Villa playing Brentford.

21:10 CET – Things have gone from bad to worse for Southampton… Jack Stephens has been sent off for pulling Marc Cucurella’s hair bizarrely enough.

21:06 CET – Premier League leaders Liverpool are now trailing Newcastle 1-0 after the hosts opened the scoring with a thunderbolt from Alexander Isak.

Meanwhile, Liverpool’s local rivals Everton are 2-0 up against Wolves.

21:04 CET – Kevin De Bruyne has added a goal to his assist for Manchester City to make it 2-0 against Forest. The champions might finally be snapping this winless run tonight.

Elsewhere, Chelsea are now 3-1 up thanks to a goal from Noni Madueke.

21:00 CET – Moving over to Spain and Real Madrid are just about to start a tricky clash away at Athletic Club. Real would close the gap with Barcelona to just one point with a win but San Mames is not an easy place to do that. Follow that match via the link above.

20:47 CET – Chelsea have reinstated their one-goal lead over Southampton through Christopher Nkunku. It’s now 2-1 to the visitors at St. Mary’s.

20:41 CET – Joe Aribo has put Southampton back on level terms with Chelsea while Everton are ahead against Wolves. Plenty of goals going in, that’s for sure.

20:38 CET – Chelsea are the first to score in the Premier League this evening. Axel Disasi has put the Blues 1-0 up against lowly Southampton. The French defender netted off a corner – could it be a long night for Saints? Possibly.

Liverpool have made three changes to their starting lineup with Jarell Quansah, Curtis Jones and Darwin Nunez coming in for Trent Alexander-Arnold, Dominik Szoboszlai and Luis Diaz while Alexander Isak is fit to start for Newcastle.

Meanwhile, in Manchester, Kevin de Bruyne returns to the starting lineup for Pep Guardiola’s side as Phil Foden misses out due to illness.

18:45 CET – It’s a huge evening of football in the English top flight, with several important matches at the top of the table.

League leaders Liverpool face a tricky away game at Newcastle, while Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester City will all be keen to capitalise on any kind of slip-up from Arne Slot’s side.
