At least one civilian was killed in a rocket attack by YPG/PKK terrorists in Al-Bab district of Aleppo governorate in northern Syria. This incident took place on Sunday, according to information provided by correspondent Omer Koparan. The terrorists, positioned west of Al-Bab, targeted the district center with several rockets.
Initial reports indicate that 14 civilians were injured. The victims were immediately transported to local health centers to receive necessary treatment. This attack occurs in a region that Türkiye had purged of Daesh terrorists in February 2017, during Operation Euphrates Shield. This operation was undertaken to secure the border and promote a peaceful return of residents.
Since 2016, Türkiye has carried out three major counterterrorism operations in northern Syria to hinder the formation of a terrorist corridor. These operations include Euphrates Shield (2016), Olive Branch (2018) and Spring of Peace (2019). A campaign of terror orchestrated by the PKK has caused the deaths of more than 40,000 people over the past 40 years, including women and children. The YPG group is considered the Syrian branch of this terrorist organization according to Ankara, the United States and the European Union.
