Gaza Health Ministry Announces New Death Toll of 37,834 Since War Began on October 7, 2023

Israel’s war declared against the Hamas movement in the Gaza Strip has caused 37,834 deaths since October 7, said the Ministry of Health of the besieged Palestinian enclave.

On the 267th day of the conflict, the local Ministry of Health reported, in its daily casualty toll, “37,834 dead and 86,858 injured.”

The EU has announced a new round of sanctions against Belarus in response to its continued support for Russia’s war in Ukraine.

The new measures aim to close existing loopholes and prevent circumvention of current sanctions, with the aim of increasing pressure on Belarus and strengthening the effectiveness of EU sanctions against Russia.

According to the EU Council, these sanctions are aligned with those imposed on Russia and target specific sectors of the Belarusian economy, and specifically trade, services and transport.

The updated sanctions expand export restrictions on dual-use and advanced technology goods and introduce new limits on items such as maritime navigation equipment, oil refining technology and luxury goods.

Madrid files declaration of intervention in case against Israel on prevention of crime of genocide before ICJ

“This intervention is motivated by our responsibility as a State party to the Genocide Convention and by our firm commitment to international law,” the Spanish Foreign Ministry said.

Madrid’s action aligns it with other countries such as Colombia, Mexico and Palestine, and several other countries such as Ireland, Belgium and Chile which are expected to join them in the case before the ICJ.

According to Spanish diplomacy, this decision underlines the country’s commitment to supporting the role of the ICJ in maintaining a rules-based international order.

Putting a new communications satellite into orbit

China successfully launched the ChinaSat-3A satellite into space on Saturday aboard a modified Long March-7 carrier rocket from the Wenchang launch base on China’s Hainan Island.

The communications and broadcasting satellite, ChinaSat-3A, was placed into its planned orbit during the mission, according to state broadcaster CGTN.

Designed to improve voice, data, radio and television transmission services, the satellite represents China’s ambitions for space conquest.

Morocco mourned by the death of Princess Lalla Latifa

The Kingdom of Morocco was plunged into mourning on Saturday by the death of Princess Lalla Latifa, mother of the current king, Mohammed VI.
