Ziguinchor Town Hall: One Sonko replaces another – Lequotidien

Djibril Sonko replaces Ousmane Sonko as mayor of Ziguinchor. The new mayor of the southern capital promises to make many sacrifices to ensure the function of mayor of the commune of Ziguinchor.

But the sons of the bay are still there – Djibril Sonko was elected yesterday mayor of the commune of Ziguinchor. This Treasury inspector, elected unanimously with 77 votes, replaces Ousmane Sonko at the head of Ziguinchor town hall. He was also the one who was acting when Ousmane Sonko was imprisoned. The new mayor supports at the end of his election: “This election is a priesthood for me. I decided to make a lot of sacrifices to serve as mayor of the commune of Ziguinchor. It is a priesthood for me and I invite you to make it a priesthood, not to do with this function of “powerism”.” The new magistrate of the commune of Ziguinchor urges his collaborators to consider this function as an invitation to Ziguinchor residents and councilors to put themselves at their service for the development of the commune. “I invite you to favor rigor, seriousness in the work, justice in all the actions that we take in the management of the town hall, abandon inappropriate behavior, any behavior which will result in the blocking of the management of this town hall , and by extension to block everything that can benefit the well-being of the populations of Ziguinchor,” called Mr. Sonko.
He also calls for work to bring the populations the well-being that they have long awaited from the authorities of Ziguinchor town hall.
The former second deputy mayor of the commune of Ziguinchor admitted that the competition for the election of the mayor of Ziguinchor was tough. “There were a lot of misunderstandings between the candidates, there was a lot of adversity between the candidates, but I can assure you that it was just a competition and I understand it that way. I will need everyone’s support to make Ziguinchor emerge. I will not rule out anyone for reasons of adversity or for reasons of political politics. I hope, however, that everyone will help me in the heavy task of managing the town hall of Ziguinchor, the heavy task of developing Ziguinchor,” declared Mr. Sonko.
To the municipal agents, the newly elected official calls to make the development of Ziguinchor a personal matter for the well-being of the Ziguinchorois. “Only the well-being of the populations of Ziguinchor interests me, and I hope that only the well-being of the populations of Ziguinchor interests all the councilors and agents of the town hall,” he said.
