Traffic resumed in both directions on Highway 30 in Contrecoeur, in Montérégie, late Friday afternoon, following an urgent inspection of the Montée de la Pomme-d’ overpass. Gold by the Ministry of Transport.

Québec 511 reported around 4:15 p.m. on its X account that traffic had resumed on the Autoroute de l’Acier at exit 117 (Montée de la Pomme-d’Or) and thenext entrysoutheast of Montreal.

A crack in the concrete was observed during repair work on the viaduct and traffic was interrupted around 1 p.m. on Friday while an engineering team from the Ministry of Transport and Sustainable Mobility (MTMD) went to the site to determine the danger of the situation, explained the spokesperson for the MTMDLouis-André Bertrand.

The fault has been located and it does not represent a danger to the safety of users, the inspectors concluded, explains Mr. Bertrand.

According to the Quebec 511 file, they were due to end in August 2024.

Traffic in both directions was halted for a little over three hours.

The overpass is still closed to traffic.
