“But what have you done to France?”: in tears, a columnist from RMC challenges Yaël Braun-Pivet. Visibly affected, the President of the National Assembly, Yaël Braun-Pivet, listens. Opposite her, a columnist from RMC, Joëlle Dago-Serry, bursts into tears. “I no longer know which country I belong to, I almost feel stateless. I say to myself: am I French? It’s really complicated”she says, with difficulty. Before continuing, her throat tight: “What did you do with France when you were given the keys in 2017? Why will I have Jordan Bardella tomorrow?”. Response from MP Renaissance des Yvelines, embarrassed: “Many of us feel your emotion, this worry and this absolute dismay. […] Unfortunately, the movement around the extreme right was born before us. […] It’s not just French-French, it’s a deep-seated movement.”. The candidate for re-election nevertheless recognizes: “We have our share of responsibility, we are all responsible a little.”

On X (ex-Twitter), the left was quick to react. The First Secretary of the Socialist Party Olivier Faure challenges the columnist: “No Joëlle Dago-Serry, France is not the RN. We are there, by the millions, faithful to the spirit of the Enlightenment, that of the Popular Front and the resistance. On Sunday we will make our voices heard!” For his part, the number 1 of the PCF, Fabien Roussel greets: “Moving words, of great dignity, which I share entirely”. And enjoins: “Let us pull ourselves together. Let us rise to this moment.”
