The MR reacted this Friday to the decision of the Brussels PS office not to validate the entry into negotiations to form a Brussels government.
“Following the latest positions taken by the Brussels PS, we underline the importance of being at the table to discuss. The MR also wishes to recall that he made it clear during the campaign that he would never govern with the extreme left or the extreme right. reacted David Leisterh, president of the Brussels MR.The MR confirms to the PS that we will under no circumstances receive the PTB.”
The MR specifies that it is not useful to go around the table since Ecolo has already indicated his desire to go into opposition.
“We therefore expect the PS, while respecting the election results, to demonstrate its real desire to respond to the emergencies in Brussels. Any other attitude would be dilatory,” added David Leisterh. “We will therefore organise a meeting of the only coalition arithmetically possible at this stage on the French-speaking side (MR-PS-Engagés) with the aim of establishing an ambitious government agreement that responds to the concerns expressed by Brussels voters. It is up to everyone to assume their responsibilities in the interests of the people of Brussels. We are doing so.”
The liberals seem convinced that the socialists are trying, by various means, to block the formation of a Brussels government.
