Firefighters noted the presence of two bodies in a home on rue des Déportés in Basècles on Wednesday evening. They are an elderly couple. The circumstances of the two deaths are not yet clear.
An elderly couple no longer seemed to show any sign of life and, for the neighbors, something was wrong. According to Sudinfo, local residents were surprised by the presence of the man’s car in a nearby parking lot for several days; it had not moved for several days. The neighbors’ suspicions therefore proved correct, since when firefighters from the Picardy Wallonia emergency zone arrived at the couple’s home, they were greeted by a locked door and no sign of life. The emergency services had to force the front door.
After entering the house, they make a sad discovery: “Two bodies were discovered in a house. They are an elderly couple, who lived with their niece“, confirms Mayor Luc Vansaingèle to our colleagues at Sudinfo.
We currently do not know the circumstances of these two deaths. A forensic doctor was dispatched to the scene.
