A 15 centime green “Ceres” type from 1849, with a starting price of 9,000 euros, a 1 franc pale vermilion “vervelle” at 12,000 euros and a “25 c” overprinted on 20 centime blue “Ceres” type, unissued, the only coin known to date, at 75,000 euros – “stamp planned for the rate change of 1is July 1850 [avant l’impression du 25 centimes bleu]whose stock has been destroyed. Not to be confused with the similar surcharge affixed to the 1862 reprint” – constitute the highlights of the sale on offers organized by the Roumet house in Paris, which closed on September 24, and which dispersed more than 3,400 lots.
A 10 centimes in yellow-brown “Présidence” with the image of Louis-Napoléon Bonaparte (1808-1873) starting at 6,000 euros, a 1 franc carmine “Empire” imperforate (4,000 euros), a 5 franc “Empire” laureate, leaf edge (3,500 euros), or a 1 centime black on Prussian blue in the “Sage” type from 1880 (“beautiful shade, very fresh and centered”7,000 euros) complete this fine selection of French classics.
For semi-moderns (1900-1940), a 90 centime red “American Legion” (1927) mistakenly printed with no value in the cartridge is at the starting price of 1,200 euros.
Count at least:
– 8,000 euros for two panels of 50 copies with overprint moved from 50 centimes to 55 centimes purple to the “Peace” type;
– 6,000 euros for a 10 franc note on a 1.50 franc blue note of the “Pasteur” type (airmail, Ile-de-France).

Fans will not fail to refer to a section full of tests and trials, including many “Sower”:
– Tests of surcharges, on a strip of five from 1 cent gray to “white” type, 1,500 euros minimum;

Roumet, a specialist in stamp boxes, offers eighty of them, from 20 to 800 euros, depending on their characteristics, such as this Tiffany & Co model, Art Deco in solid silver.

Good prices are noted in the Cameroon, Ivory Coast (postal parcels), Somali Coast (Somali warriors) sections, “small overprint, blue date stamp, print run 20”at 10,000 euros), Gabon (tax-paid stamp, 1889, 15 centimes on 30 centimes black, cancelled, at 1,500 euros), Obock (stamp of the French colonies “Alphée Dubois”, 75 centimes on 1 franc olive, overprint “7” omitted, holding up to normal, in the center of a strip of three, corner of sheet, starting price of 6,000 euros), Reunion (no. 1, 15 centimes black on azure, type III, good margins, at 19,000 euros).
