From Wednesday morning, the weather will cool down. A few showers could even appear in the plains during the day, according to MeteoNews.
In Chamoson (VS), at around 1,500 meters above sea level, snow fell for the first time this season late Tuesday afternoon, according to a Keystone-ATS journalist. On Wednesday, it could drop up to 500 meters over the course of the day, depending on the region.
First cold snap
MeteoSwiss has issued severe weather warnings for the night of Tuesday until Wednesday noon of degrees 2 and 3 north of the Alps. The snowfall limits, initially located at 1800 meters, then fell during the second part of the night. The winds were also stormy in the mountains during the night, reaching 80 or 90 km/h.
Temperatures between 0 and 4 degrees are forecast for Wednesday morning in the plains.
Further disruptions are expected on Thursday. It should snow in the plains in the afternoon. You should even avoid driving on Thursday, according to meteorologists. Snow is also forecast for Friday. Milder temperatures are, however, expected this weekend.
The areas close to Lake Geneva should be less affected by this snowy episode.
