The alert issued Wednesday evening by the Sûreté du Québec for an armed suspect believed to be in the Natashquan sector, on the North Shore, has been lifted.
The threat is now over, said the police, who added that the area is secure.
The suspect was found and subdued; he will be met by investigators, explains a new publication on the X network.
The armed suspect was traveling on foot in the area of Route 138, in Natashquan, in the MRC of Minganie.
The SQ asked not to approach the suspect, to lock the doors and to move away from the windows.
“I am aware that this individual is truly dangerous. However, I can tell you that the armed individual is not walking the streets of Natashquan. This individual would rather be in the area between Nutashkuan and Kegaska,” said Mathieu Vigneault, citizen and municipal councilor of the village of 230 inhabitants.

“Leave the area if it is safe to do so,” we also read in the first warning, broadcast around 6:25 p.m.
Due to the blocked road, people also feared missing the departure of the next boat.
Citizens were asked to dial 9-1-1 if necessary.
