Norwegian police announced Tuesday that Marius Borg Hoiby, the 27-year-old son of Norwegian Crown Princess Mette-Marit, was arrested on suspicion of rape.
Norwegian police announced Tuesday the arrest of Marius Borg Hoiby, son of Crown Princess Mette-Marit of Norway, on suspicion of rape. Born from a relationship prior to his mother's marriage in 2001 to Haakon, the 27-year-old heir to the Norwegian throne was arrested on Tuesday evening.
He is suspected of having had “sexual intercourse with a person who was unconscious or otherwise incapable of resisting this act,” police said in a statement.
Knife stuck in a wall
Mette-Marit's son had already been arrested in mid-September for violating a restraining order. Marius Hoiby was then accused of having “established unwanted contact with a woman with victim status”.
Marius Borg Hoiby was arrested on August 4 following a nighttime argument in an Oslo apartment and accused of injuring a woman with whom he was having an affair.
According to the Norwegian mediapolice found a knife stuck in one of the walls of the woman's bedroom in the apartment during the August 4 incident.
