Former New Brunswick Liberal politician Victor Boudreau is appointed to the Senate by the Prime Minister of Canada, Justin Trudeau. He will join the Group of Independent Senators.

Victor Boudreau has been the general manager of the Town of Shediac since March 2023. During the previous five years, he was vice-president of the marketing and public affairs firm m5.
He is best known on the provincial scene for the many roles he played when he was a provincial deputy, from 2004 to 2018. He notably served as interim leader of the Liberal Party, Minister of Health and Minister of Finance.
