100 million euros in turnover: this is Fonroche Lighting’s objective for 2024. The world leader in public solar lighting, based at the Technopôle Garonne, continues its international rise. Senegal, “three quarters lit by Fonroche Lighting”, as Laurent Lubrano, its general director, explains, was one of the company’s first flagship projects. Today, in addition to numerous countries in North and West Africa and South America, the company is established in the United States, where the market is flourishing.

The installation of these street lights does not require an underground network or electricity.

In Las Vegas in particular, solar lanterns were installed to compensate for the theft of copper cables which left entire neighborhoods in darkness. “These solutions, which require neither underground network nor electricity, reduce not only costs but also dependence on already overloaded electricity networks,” explains Laurent Lubrano. Which is not insignificant for the largest city in Nevada… In total, 45 states and 270 American municipalities are customers of the leader in public solar lighting, including San Antonio, Denver, Philadelphia, Fort Worth, and Manhattan , in New York… For the record, three private clients have also called on the Lot-et-Garonnaise company: NASA in Greenfield, Tesla for the car parks at its headquarters in Austin, Texas, and Virgin Galactic .

Among the upcoming flagship projects: Fort Worth, Texas, where Fonroche plans the installation of nearly 3,500 solar lights in the city’s southern neighborhoods, particularly in historically disadvantaged areas.
