Video / Edition – “The Constitution and political practice”, a collective work and “Mixtures offered to Pr. Mohammed Madani” unveiled at the Faculty of Law of Rabat

“The wise man of the Department of Public Law…”, thus described the academic Mohammed Sassi, Professor Emeritus of the Faculty of Legal, Economic and Social Sciences, Rabat-Agdal, Mohammed Madani, during the presentation of a collective work in French and Arabic of more than 600 pages.

The presentation took place at the Faculty of Legal Sciences in Rabat on November 4, with the participation of numerous researchers and academics who came to pay tribute to the colossal scientific work carried out by Mr. Madani, particularly in the constitutional field for decades, and this, in all humility, intellectual honesty and self-sacrifice.

“Prof. Madani presented a positive image abroad of the Moroccan researcher…”, emphasized Mr. Sassi, in an allusion to the scientific rigor and meticulous work that characterized research and production in the legal and constitutional domain of Mr. Madani.

Farid El Bacha, President of Mohammed V University and Dean of the Faculty, described Mr. Madani in these terms: “A jurist with scientific contributions who have greatly contributed to a better understanding of the evolution of the Moroccan constitutional system and beyond Morocco. policy “.

And added: “His reflections on social movements, freedom of conscience, the organization and functioning of the State and powers, the democratic transition in Morocco, constitutional and political reforms in the Maghreb, were landmarks. Reflections of a committed jurist, activist for democracy and human rights, demanding of himself and of colleagues.”

It should be noted that around thirty Moroccan academics contributed to the creation of this collective work, including Aziz Hasbi, Lahcen Oulhaj, Omar Bendourou, Najibullah Akesbi, Mohammed Sassi, Ahmed Bouz, Amina El Messaoudi, Mohamed Hafid, Abdel- Aziz Nouaydi and Abdelmoughit Benmassoud Tredano.

These professors and their colleagues have addressed in this book themes relating to the “Constitution and the State”, “the Internal Legal Order and the International Legal Order”, “Democratization and the Political System”, the “Constitution and the supervision of political life”, “The Constitution put to the test of implementation”, “The Constitution, political transformation and the discourse of actors” and “Current international questions”.

Printed by Éditions & Impressions Bouregreg, this prestigious book remained a reference document for researchers and students at the Faculty of Legal, Economic and Social Sciences.

During his speech on this occasion, Professor Mohammed Sassi paid eloquent tribute to his colleague Mr. Madani, in laudatory but objective and sincere terms.
