Babou Diédhiou, former cabinet aide to Mamadou Moustapha Bâ, former Minister of Finance and Budget of Senegal, was questioned by the Criminal Investigation Division (DIC) on November 11, 2024, as part of the investigation into the death of Mr. Bâ, which occurred in Paris on November 4. Investigators are seeking to elucidate the circumstances of this disappearance.
For the purposes of the investigation, the DIC organized two hearings, involving Yacine Sall, wife of Moustapha Bâ, and Babou Diédhiou, former collaborator of the ex-minister. According to several media, Diédhiou, known for his closeness to the deceased and his family, played a supporting role for Moustapha Bâ during his international travels.
However, for this last stay of Mr. Bâ in France, Babou Diédhiou had not initially accompanied his superior. Remaining in Dakar, he only reached Paris at the end of October, a trip undertaken in the company of Mrs. Bâ, who had decided to leave for France after several days without news of her husband, specifies the daily The Observer.
Returning to Dakar the previous Saturday, Babou Diédhiou and Yacine Sall arrived with the body of Moustapha Bâ, which they were able to locate after several days of unsuccessful searches in France.
