Snow accumulated in the streets of the capital this Thursday, November 21. There had not been so much powder snow in Paris for the month of November since 1968.
A record day in Paris. With 4cm recorded this Thursday, November 21 in the streets of the capital, this day ranks as the snowiest for a month of November since 1968 in the capital, according to the readings consulted by BFMTV.
Up to 30cm in Yvelines
At the Paris-Montsouris station, you have to go back 56 years to find greater snow depth in November. At the time, the powder had reached 6 cm on November 17, 1968.
In the rest of the region, the readings are more important. “Nearly 15 cm of snow fell in Yvelines today,” said the prefect this Thursday evening on BFMTV.
According to Météo-France, 20cm were reached in Plessis-Gassot (Val-d'Oise), 10cm in Vinantes (Seine-et-Marne), 7 cm in Toussus-le-Noble (Yvelines).
Roissy-Charles de Gaulle airport was largely disrupted this Thursday and flights delayed. 15cm of snow was recorded in the Val-d'Oise commune of Roissy.
The Ile-de-France departments are all placed on orange snow-ice alert by Météo-France. School transport is suspended on Friday in Yvelines, Val-d'Oise, Seine-et-Marne and Essonne.
