After acquiring the Bayraktar TB2 drones in 2021, Morocco decided to strengthen its capabilities by opting for a more sophisticated version: the Akıncı model. This new aircraft, at the cutting edge of technology, is distinguished by its advanced characteristics and its high operational efficiency, adapted to the strategic needs of the Royal Air Forces, indicates the very informed Forum Far Maroc on Facebook.

A first delivery is expected in February 2025. The Bayraktar Akıncı is designed to meet the autonomy and range requirements essential for the surveillance and defense of large territories. This drone is capable of flying for up to 24 hours continuously, with a maximum range of 6,000 kilometers, thanks to its satellite guidance system which removes distance constraints.

Equipped with an AESA (Active Electronically Scanned Array) radar, it can detect and track multiple targets simultaneously, enabling effective and rapid threat management. This advanced radar provides the drone with increased precision and responsiveness, even in hostile environments, where it can outmaneuver opposing defense systems.

Additionally, the Akıncı has a payload capacity capable of carrying varied weapons, including long-range guided missiles and bombs, providing offensive capabilities similar to those of the F5 fighter jets.

Its weak radar signature makes it discreet and difficult for enemy defense systems to spot. This makes it a major asset for reconnaissance operations in hostile territory, the identification of strategic targets, as well as for missions to neutralize opposing infrastructures. A versatility that allows the drone to execute a wide range of missions, ranging from surveillance to tactical support to precision strikes.
