Early Tuesday morning, rail traffic between Neuchâtel (NE) and Bienne (BE) was interrupted near St-Blaise (NE). On the Vaud and Friborg side, it was the derailment of a train between Ecublens-Rue (FR) and Lucens (VD) which disrupted traffic on the Palézieux-Payerne line.

According to the CFF, the disruption between Neuchâtel and Bienne should last at least until 9:00 a.m.. As the saying goes, “delays and deletions are to be expected”. Lines IC, IC5 and R16 are affected. While waiting for replacement buses to be put into service, travelers will have to deal with waiting times.

Passengers between Geneva Airport, Geneva, Morges, Lausanne and Olten, Aarau, Basel, Zurich and St. Wales are recommended to travel via Bern.

As for the disruptions on the Palézieux-Payerne line, due to a derailment, they should continue at least until midday. Replacement buses have been arranged. Travelers between Lausanne and Payerne must pass through Yverdon-les-Bains. (mbr)
