A new transport company, Casamance Transport, is preparing to revolutionize the transport sector in Senegal. Financed by CF Banque to the tune of $35 million (around 21 billion CFA francs), this ambitious project is part of the modernization of mobility in Senegal and provides for multi-modal services including road, river and maritime transport.
According to the President and CEO of Casamance Transport, Moussa Gaye Coly, “the company aims to deploy a national network, with 42 operating stations and a fleet of vehicles renewed every eight years. This fleet will include 50 buses, 12 trucks of 12 to 13 tonnes, 50 minicars and 45 to 50 recovery vehicles. In partnership with CF Banque, Adepme, and the Land Transport Department, Casamance Transport intends to launch its commercial activities no later than March 2025.”
Laurent Bien Legbane, Managing Director of CF Banque, stressed that “this project aims to meet the growing transport needs in Senegal and establish infrastructure that meets international safety and quality standards. » According to Le Quotidien, the project also includes comfort and security services with buses equipped with VIP seats, wifi, and professional drivers.
