The increase in explosive attacks on ATMs in the region, and more generally in Switzerland, has pushed the Banque Cantonale Neuchâteloise to take new measures limiting the availability of its network of external distributors and therefore reducing risks.

“Having as priority the safety and integrity of its staff, its customers as well as residents near the ATMs, the bank has decided to decommission certain ATMs located outside its own sites,” announces the cantonal bank.

In Fleurier, the two devices on the front are emptied and put out of service from this Tuesday, June 11 and until further notice. The multimat, from 5 a.m. to 10 p.m., and the counter, according to the usual schedule, remain accessible in the advice center.

In Areuse (Center of the Island), Cressier, Le Landeron (Migros), Neuchâtel (Monruz), the devices are emptied and put out of service from June 11 as well and until further notice.

The devices at Les Verrières and the Éplatures shopping center, in front, are already currently unavailable. This is also the case for the Couvet device, where the counter remains available, at the usual time, for current operations.

The Ponts-de-Martel device is again available from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m., according to the usual schedule. The other sites are maintained, subject to unfavorable developments in the situation. The self-service areas located on the bank’s premises are accessible from 5 a.m. to 10 p.m.

“We are facing an extraordinary situation and other measures are likely to be taken at any time,” adds the BCN.
