Changes to Siri

Apple is leveraging OpenAI’s ChatGPT to make its Siri virtual assistant smarter and more useful.

The optional Siri to ChatGPT gateway will be free for all iPhone users and will be available on other Apple products, once the option is integrated into the next generation of Apple’s operating systems.

ChatGPT subscribers should be able to easily sync their existing accounts when using the iPhone, and should benefit from more advanced features than free users.

“Together with Apple, we are making it easier to access what AI can offer,” Altman said in a statement.

In addition to allowing Siri to tap into ChatGPT’s reservoir of knowledge, Apple is giving its 13-year-old virtual assistant a complete overhaul intended to make it more user-friendly and more versatile, even though it currently processes about 1, 5 billion requests per day.
