Broken bracelet, wrong way on the highway

They also took into account the fact that he had broken his electronic bracelet after having benefited from preventive detention under this mode of home surveillance, and that when he was arrested twice subsequently the police officers had him each once found in possession of firearms.

They also noted that the culprit had filmed himself driving at high speed in the wrong direction on the highway, under the influence of nitrous oxide, a particularly unconscious act which calls into question his personality.

Under the thumb of Dardour

Judges and jurors, on the other hand, admitted mitigating circumstances for Youssef Jeddi, starting with the fact that it appears from various testimonies that he was under the control of Mohamed-Amine Dardour. They also noted that he had dropped out of school and was only 19 years old at the time of the events.

Life sentence required against Dardour and Jeddi, those guilty of the assassination of Soufiane Benali in Forest

However, they took into consideration the fact that Youssef Jeddi had not respected the conditions of his release while he was in preventive detention, and that he had then fled to Spain to join Mohamed-Amine Dardour.

During the night from Tuesday to Wednesday, the jury of the Assize Court found Mohamed-Amine Dardour and Youssef Jeddi guilty of the assassination of Soufiane Benali and the attempted assassination of Amine Jeddi and Adnane Mahroug.

Sitting in front of a wash house

On July 5, 2020 around 12:30 a.m., Soufiane Benali, aged 23, was the target of machine gun fire, while he was sitting in front of a laundry room on rue Alfred Orban in Forest. Two of his friends, who were next to him, were injured.

A few days before, Mohamed-Amine Dardour had threatened Soufiane Benali’s brother to violently attack the latter if he continued to undermine his traffic. The investigation revealed that Dardour was at the head of a criminal association active in the sale of cannabis and cocaine since 2018, one of the “points of sale” of which was the Orban district.
