Pauline Godat is a bit like La Bosse: she exudes tranquility. Installed with her family in an old farm in the Franc-Montagnard hamlet, the 35-year-old Green MP shows nothing of the intensity that has animated her days for several weeks. However, the race for the Jura Government leaves him no respite. On November 24, she will be opposed at the polls to the centrist Ajoulot Stéphane Theurillat to succeed the PLR Jacques Gerber, appointed delegate of the Federal Council for Ukraine at the beginning of September. Also a candidate, Pascal Prince (HelvEthica), should take up little space in this left-right duel.

“I come into contact with the population at the counters and cultural events. I don’t follow sporting events, because it’s not my habit and it would be opportunistic,” she laughs as she sits down at the family table. She tells how she developed an ecological awareness from her childhood spent in Movelier, surrounded by nature and animals. “When I was little, I dreamed of being a volcanologist, but I quickly understood that there was no job in Switzerland!” She then became interested in psychology, which she studied between Basel and Fribourg. “I always wanted to understand how people work and why they can’t agree.”
