The designations for the next Pro League weekend are out. No trace of the main referee of Standard – Saint-Trond.

The refereeing department made its mea culpa after the canceled goal ofAdriano Bertaccini at the Standard. Jonathan Lardot recognized that Epolo’s missed intervention started a new phase, authorizing the Trudonnaire striker to come and press him.

The STVV thus lodged a complaint with the Belgian Union. If the regulations around replay matches have been modified since last season to avoid new cases like Anderlecht – Genk and Mechelen – Club Brugge, all this agitation is not good for anyone.

Whether it was a sanction or a rest to protect him from all this commotion, referee Kevin Van Damme (who followed the VAR decision without going to see the phase on the screen ) is not part of the designations for next weekend. Brent Staessens, who was in charge of the VAR, will be the main referee during Lommel – Lierse, in D1B.

Fewer controversies next weekend?

Saint-Trond and Felice Mazzu will be refereed by Nicolas Laforge against Mechelen (with Wim Smet in charge of the VAR). For its part, Standard will see Lawrence Visser (who refereed the victory against Club Brugge at the start of the season) lead the proceedings against La Gantoise, with Wim Smet behind the screen as well.

Cercle de Bruges – Anderlecht will be refereed by Wesli De Cremer, assisted by Bert Put on video. Erik Lambrechts will be in charge of Union Saint-Gilloise – Genk (with Michiel Allaerts in Tubize), while Bert Put will referee Charleroi – Westerlo, with Ken Vermeiren as VAR assistant. All weekend designations are accessible via this link.
