Mr. Moreau is known for having hosted the pre- and post-gala ceremonies of ADISQ, the Prix Gémeaux and Quebec cinema.
The announcement of his death therefore created a shock wave on the red carpet of the ADISQ Gala, which was taking place at the time of writing these lines. The cause of his death has not been revealed.
“The one who has walked thousands of red carpets has, among other things, been at the helm of the show Star Système for several years. We offer our sincere condolences to his family, loved ones and colleagues in the industry,” wrote the UDA.
Of Haitian origin, Herby Moreau arrived in Quebec at the age of 5.
After spending a few years in France, notably to study journalism at the École Supérieure de Lille, in France, he returned to La Belle Province as a collaborator at Little Journal at TQS, before participating in the show Flashwhere he passionately covered the world of stars.

Several public figures said they were in shock following the announcement of the death of the cultural journalist.
Liberal MP Marwah Rizqy offered her “deepest condolences to his family and loved ones”.
“He was our neighbor in Old Montreal, the class he had on the red carpets also translated into the streets of our neighborhood,” she wrote on X.
The mayor of Montreal, Valérie Plante, paid tribute to the man nicknamed the “star hunter”.
“Herby quickly made her mark on the red carpets and brought us closer to our stars. My thoughts are with those close to Herby Moreau,” said Ms. Plante.
The Bloc Québécois also offered its condolences to those close to Herby Moreau.
