A young man aged 24 lost his life on Thursday in an accident on a motorway lane in Fribourg.

A pedestrian died after being struck Thursday evening by a vehicle on the A12 motorway near Marsens, in the canton of Fribourg. The victim is believed to be a young man aged 24. Traffic was completely interrupted between Rossens and Bulle for part of the night.

According to the first elements of the investigation, this person was on the traffic lanes of the motorway when he was hit by a vehicle which was normally traveling from Friborg towards Vevey.

Formal identification measures are underway, as is the investigation aimed at establishing the exact circumstances of this accident.

The mobile psychosocial emergency team (EMUPS) was called upon to support those involved.
