Hugo Auradou and Oscar Jegou are accused by a woman of having raped her, in Mendoza, in July. Her lawyer hopes to be able to submit medical certificates to the proceedings attesting to the seriousness of her injuries.
While the defense of Hugo Auradou and Oscar Jegou, French rugby players accused of rape with violence in a meeting, is counting on an imminent dismissal of the case, the lawyer of the plaintiff, S., continues to struggle for a trial stand still. Natacha Romano tries to add new documents to the file: the testimonies of a dermatologist, a forensic doctor and an eye inspection of the victim.
At issue is whether or not the plaintiff suffers from the rare Willebrand syndrome. It prevents the blood from clotting normally and would, according to the defense and its medical experts, be responsible for the numerous bruises and fifteen lesions noted on S.'s body during the examinations which followed the night of July 7. She claims to have been beaten and raped by Hugo Auradou and Oscar Jegou in their hotel room in the Argentinian city of Mendoza, “treated like a piece of meat”. The two 21-year-old players talk about a consensual sexual relationship.
The submission of new documents by the plaintiff's lawyer aims to demonstrate that S. does not suffer from the syndrome in question, and that her injuries are indeed due to violent blows. It was rejected on Friday October 25 by the judge. But Natacha Romano appealed this decision to a higher court. Pending this appeal being processed, the hearing for the dropping of all charges against the rugby players, requested by their lawyers
