The Minister of the Economy, Antoine Armand, announced, Monday October 21, the launch of a review of public spending which should make it possible to reduce it by“at least 5 billion euros” by 2027. He made this announcement during the presentation of the government’s medium-term budgetary plan to the National Assembly, which accompanies the finance bill for 2025, the examination of the “revenue” part of which begins Monday evening in the hemicycle.

“This review will also focus on tax and social loopholes. We know that some of them are either unjustified or incompatible with our objectives of supporting employment or decarbonization”he continued. “To do this, all public administrations will be mobilized and, each year, they will have to present a report which will detail both the results and the budgetary impact of their actions”he developed.

This “medium-term budgetary and structural plan” covering the period 2025-2029 aims to reduce ’s public deficit to 2.8% of GDP in 2029, below the maximum threshold of 3% provided for by budgetary rules. European.
