Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said he had reached a common level of determination with Germany to fight terrorist groups, including the PKK and FETO. This statement was made during a joint press conference with visiting German Chancellor Olaf Scholz.

Erdogan specifically highlighted the commitment of both countries to actively continue the fight against these organizations. “We made the decision together to continue the fight against terrorist organizations,” he said.

The Turkish president also addressed the problems of supplying defense industry products from Germany, expressing hope for improvements in the near future. “We want to put this behind us,” Erdogan said, emphasizing the importance of relations between the two NATO allies.

During this meeting, the situation in Palestine and Lebanon was identified as a priority, with Erdogan strongly condemning what he perceives as a genocide committed by Israel. “We addressed the genocide committed by Israel in Gaza and the Palestinian territories, as well as the attacks on Lebanon,” he said.

Regarding regional stability, Erdogan raised concerns over the possible expansion of the conflict, stating that Türkiye will continue to play a responsible role. He called on leaders with “conscience and wisdom” to intervene to counter what he described as Israel’s aggressive policies.
