Crystal meth: nearly 15 kg seized in a Quebec warehouse

Quebec police are currently conducting a major search in a warehouse in the Sainte-Foy sector where nearly 15 kg of “white powder” were discovered.

The operation began shortly after 7 a.m. Thursday morning in a warehouse on Watt Avenue.

“An individual contacted us to mention that there was suspicious content in boxes,” indicates Sandra Dion, spokesperson for the Quebec City Police Service (SPVQ).

The substance, which was found in crates of vegetables, is likely similar to crystal meth, according to authorities.



The boxes were located in a warehouse on Watt Avenue, in the Sainte-Foy sector.

“The file is still progressing as we speak,” underlines Ms. Dion. The latter specifies, however, that the case has been transferred to the Sûreté du Québec.

According to our information, the boxes in question came from Sacramento, California.

For the moment, authorities have made no mention of any arrests in this case.
