The Senegalese Football Federation (FSF) has announced a turnaround in the situation regarding player Ismail Jakobs, who was initially withdrawn from the national team’s upcoming matches due to injury. Last Friday and Saturday, the FSF received an official notification from the doctor of the Turkish club Galatasaray, accompanied by MRI, stating that the player was injured and unavailable for the Senegalese selection. Following this information, the Federation communicated its package on its social networks, prioritizing the physical integrity of the player.
The FSF noted with surprise that Ismail Jakobs was finally fielded by Galatasaray during their championship match this Sunday, playing the entire match. Faced with this inconsistency, the Senegalese Football Federation immediately took action by requesting the release of the player so that he could join the national team, in accordance with his initial summons, according to the press release.
“Ismail Jakobs, who was not involved in this situation, left Istanbul yesterday and joined the Senegal team this Monday morning” specifies the federation press release. His presence will strengthen the Lions of Téranga for future challenges.
As for Abdou Aziz Ndiaye, called in as reinforcement following the announcement of Jakobs’ withdrawal, he will remain within the group, thus offering more depth to the selection.
