“Significant damage to beams” | The STM urgently closes three metro stations

The Fabre, Iberville and St-Michel metro stations, on the blue line, will be closed for an indefinite period, the Société de transport de Montréal (STM) announced Thursday evening.

“The work currently underway at Saint-Michel station has made it possible to detect significant degradation of certain main beams above the footbridge,” explained the Société de transport de Montréal (STM) in a press release released in the evening.

The Fabre and Iberville stations must also be closed, as a safety measure, due to the location of the track devices necessary for reversing trains, said the STM.

A special shuttle was stormed by users of Fabre station.

Assessments will be carried out to determine the structural work to come, and could take “several days or even weeks”, we read.

A shuttle bus service will be set up to serve the area from Thursday evening.
