Between 4 and 12 kilometers of traffic jams considerably complicated access to the Pierre-Laporte bridge, in the direction of Quebec, on Saturday afternoon. The Société des ferry du Québec (STQ) is adding departures due to traffic which had decreased in the early evening.
The Quebec Bridge is closed to traffic for a second weekend, for work, until Monday 5:30 a.m.
The Ministry of Transport and Sustainable Mobility directs motorists to its Québec 511 website to find out the traffic conditions, which have been difficult since Saturday morning.
Work on the Quebec Bridge
This is the second weekend of work on the Quebec Bridge. Last week, traffic was smooth.
The cycle and pedestrian path remains accessible, but with a reduced width as you approach the bridge. A shuttle will provide service for mopeds who wish to cross the bridge.
Due to the situation, ferry departures will be added between Quebec and Lévis.
