“Expect agricultural anger to rise again”warns on France Bleu Occitanie Jérôme Bayle, cattle breeder in Haute-Garonne, head of the Ultras association on the A64 and main figure in the farmers’ movement which took the government by surprise in January. “I told the Prime Minister a few days ago: don’t think that we are going to let you sleep soundly”he adds.
The day after a meeting between Emmanuel Macron and the agricultural unions, Jérôme Bayle admits to having had “first satisfactions” and the feeling “to be listened to” by the government. “But everything is not settled,” he assures. Should we expect new blockages? “I am in contact with Italian or German farmers”assures the operator, who mentions a potential “major action” by June.
