Huge blow for Lucas Hernandez. The versatile PSG defender, who was injured shortly before the break against Borussia Dortmund on Wednesday May 1 at Signal Iduna Park in the Champions League semi-final, suffered a rupture of the anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee, according to a press release published by his club. The French international, who underwent an MRI (magnetic resonance imaging) on ​​Thursday, will undergo surgery in the coming days. He is forced to withdraw from the Euro with the France team.

This is the third time in his career that the French international has been affected by this type of injury. The last time was during the Blues’ first match at the 2022 World Cup against Australia (4-1). He had been hit in the right knee. The eldest of the Hernandez brothers will therefore have to begin a new long cycle of rehabilitation to return to the field as quickly as possible.
