James Blunt remains a popular artist with the general public, even 19 years after the enormous success of his first album “Back to Bedlam”. Listened to by more than 11 million listeners on Spotify each month, the 49-year-old musician is ready to return to the race, four years already after the release of “Once Upon A Mind”, his latest project. Since then, the singer hasn’t been idle, since he went on the road with two tours, published his first best of “The Stars Beneath My Feet (2004 – 2021)”, while collaborating with the duo Ofenbach and James Carter on “Can’t Forget You”. While his title “Monsters”, dedicated to his father, returned to grace in the charts after a moving performance in “American Idol”, James Blunt has just announced good news: the arrival of his seventh studio album, “Who We Used To Be” whose cover shows him as a child, launching a plane in the middle of a field, haloed by a rainbow sky.

A dance title for the summer

See you in stores and on streaming platforms on October 27, as proudly revealed James Blunt through a video published on his social networks, where he claims to be locked up … in a cupboard! His disc, already available for pre-order, will contain ten new titles in its standard version and 14 in the deluxe edition, including the first single “Beside You”, which has just been released. No romantic ballad on the program but a title mixing guitar riffs and EDM beat! ” It’s a bit of a celebration, an upbeat hit to finally be with the one you’ve been looking to be your whole life. “explains the singer in a press release, he who was inspired by the atmosphere of Ibiza, where he lives, to create this solar title at will.

I heard there’s a song / That God only knows / And it’s keeping me dancing / Beside you ” spear James Blunt on the radiophonic but generic chorus of this piece produced by The Six (Jonas Blue, Bebe Rexha, Anne-Marie), which also samples a melody by Ennio Morricone. A tour should follow in 2024!
