Spider-Man 4the new Marvel film starring Tom Holland and directed by Destin Daniel Cretton, has found a release date.
After an erratic 2024 (Deadpool & Wolverine, Joker: Folie à deux), 2025 will mark the return of superheroes to the big screen. Between the triple dose of Marvel (Captain America: Brave New World, Thunderbolts*, The Fantastic Four : First Steps) and the real launch of the DCU by James Gunn and Peter Safran in the cinema (the Superman with David Corenswet), meta-humans will invade the dark rooms.
Spider-Man 4 : Avengers 5,5 ?
A pivotal year before 2026, where Marvel will pull out all the more stops with the release ofAvengers: Doomsday et Spider-Man 4. Indeed, the studio very recently formalized the release of the next film on Spider-Man, set for July 24, 2026 in American cinemas. In France, if the date has not yet been confirmed, the new Tom Holland Show should arrive on the Wednesday before its arrival in the United States (as is the custom for this type of film), i.e. July 22, 2026 .
Spider-Man 4 will therefore come out between the next two Avengerstitled Doomsday (May 2026) and Secret Wars (May 2027). This is not the first time that Marvel has decided to space out the release of the two parts of its big costume event. In 2018/2019, Ant-Man and the Wasp et Captain Marvel had invested the space between Infinity War et Endgame.
What if Ant-Man collected “only” 622 million in worldwide revenue (production budget of 162 million, according to JP Box-Office), Captain Marvel exceeded one billion at the world box office (production budget of 152 million), certainly benefiting from its place in the Marvel calendar (see the failure which will follow with The Marvels). What role will play Spider-Man 4 in this sixth phase of the MCU? To what extent will it bridge the gap between Doomsday et Secret Wars ?
While waiting to know more, let us remember that Spider-Man 4 will be directed by Destin Daniel Cretton (States of Grace, Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings). It will begin production in mid-2025, according to Tom Holland's recent intervention during the Tonight Show by Jimmy Fallon.
