Sylvie celebrates the farewells of Vartan

In an ironic mode, his colleague from the variety Michel Delpech (1946-2016) had announced the fatal deadline in 1975 in his ballad When I was a singer. He imagined himself in a lounge chair at the age of 73, learning that “Mick Jagger died lately” and celebrating “The farewells of Sylvie Vartan”. The singer of the Rolling Stones, 81 spring, survived the author of this fiction. Delpech could therefore not have attended “I bow my reverence”, Sylvie Vartan’s last song.

At 80, the star of Yéyé, this French-speaking import current of Anglo-Saxon pop culture of the 1960s, chose to stop at the scene of its triumphs, with three evenings at the Palais des Sports de la Porte de la Porte de la Porte de la Porte de la Porte de la Porte de la Porte de la Porte de la Porte (renamed Dôme de Paris), in November 2024, and as much for the last three, at the Palais des Congrès de la Porte Maillot, from January 24 to 26. Sylvie Vartan was the first singer to perform there in 1975 shortly after her inauguration. The final bouquet is missing only the Olympia, which had welcomed its beginnings, in 1961, and whose scene she shared with the Beatles, in 1964, then with a certain Johnny Hallyday, in 1967.
